Certainly it would appear the future is Fusion from AMD. The trend in 2011 may be the emergence and domination of the AMD Fusion based Asus Eee PC models. There is a LOT to like here. Your concerns about battery life are addressed. It would appear from early indications that the Asus 1215B will get equal and perhaps better battery life than the Asus 1215N which is the Intel Atom + Nvidia ION combination. It would appear that AMD wins out. It’s early and reviewers haven’t gotten their teeth fully into the Asus 1215B but it’s looking really fantastic. Not only terrific but at a cheaper price point.

Spec wise, here is what you need to know. There are many variations possible on the Asus 1215B so be careful when shopping for one! A cheap price may mean it’s the lower end model and not so much a cheap price. With that said there are the following AMD processors available: AMD Fusion APU E350 1.6GHz (dual core)/C30 1.2GHz (single core)/C50 1.0GHz (dual core) Processor. There are the following hard drives sizes: 250GB/320GB/500GB. There are the following GPU’s: Radeon HD 6250/Radeon HD 6310. The Eee PC 1215B comes with 1 stick of 2GB DDR3 RAM. Go that straight? Have fun picking the version that you want!
