Well the day has arrived for the evolutionary X101 model of the Eee PC. It’s available for order in various countries which we will list below. If you don’t know, the Asus Eee PC X101 uses the MeeGo operating system. If you want the Windows 7 version, the X101H has not yet been released.
The X101 was supposed to be at a $199 price and to be the cheapest netbook on the market. However, we’re seeing retailers charge a bit more than $199. Aside from not coming with Windows 7, the X101 has a small 8 GB SSD which should be sufficient consider the USB and MicroSD card reader allowing for easy additional storage. To keep costs down Asus has also gone with an Intel Atom N435 processor which is not dual core. Also the Eee PC comes with a 3 cell battery although some different versions MAY come with a 6 cell battery. If the price is near the $199 be assured that it comes with the 3 cell battery.
